Raw carob is subtly sweet and not at all bitter with a pleasant almost caramel-like taste. Raw carob has a less intense flavor than roasted. It also retains more of the nutrients. Carob is ideal for those sensitive to caffeine because unlike chocolate, carob doesn’t contain stimulants such as caffeine and theobromine.
Often referred to as a chocolate substitute, but carob does have its own unique flavor which lends itself well to shakes, malts, carob-nut bars, bread products, and even mixed into baked beans and barbecue sauces. Carob powder is somewhat reminiscent of chocolate. However some say it has a flavor more similar to dates.

Store in an air tight container in a cool, dark space for up to 1 year.
