Description
Best by 11/2024. Roland® Nonpareille Capers are the smaller of the commercially used capers, measuring 3-7 mm in diameter. They are green/gray in color. The caper is the flower bud of a low growing bush found in Mediterreanean countries. It is cured in brine and packed in sherry wine vinegar.
Capers are hand-pickles made from the unopened flower buds of the Capparis spinosa shrub, which grows around the Mediterranean. Never used fresh, capers are preserved either in salt, or in a salt/water/vinegar brine. You'll find them in Italian dishes like chicken piccata or spaghetti puttanesca, and in French dishes like salade Nicoise. They lend a salty, pungent and vinegary punch to dishes.
Inngredients: Capers, Water, Salt, Distilled Vinegar.
