100% Renewable Energy: The Sunbeam Candles shop runs on a 3,520W solar electric (photovoltaic) system. This system ties directly to the utility grid–no batteries–and generates roughly 10 kWh per day or 3,750 kWh per year of pollution-free electricity. What electricity they don’t make, they buy from companies producing electricity from 100% renewable resources such as wind power and biomass generation. So, all the energy used at Sunbeam Candles is renewable, all year long.
At Sunbeam Candles, we strive to be as green and clean as possible in all aspects of our everyday business. We ship all packages through UPS' “carbon neutral” program, which invests in reforestation and other projects that reduce the carbon level in the atmosphere.

As a result, we have pledged to pay a minimum wage equal to or greater than the local living wage as determined by the Tompkins County Living Wage board.
