The Luminary Event will take place Dec 31 2022 on the Common in Brookfield (Rt 148). In case of inclement weather, the Luminary display will be re-scheduled for December 31. Volunteers are welcome to assist with set-up at 2:00 p.m. on the Common. Lighting of the candles will begin at 3:30-4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy this traditional Brookfield event.
Bring the luminary tradition home! Six candles and bags for a $5 donation to support next year's luminary event sponsored by the Friends of the Merrick Public Library.
Each year since 2002, volunteers have placed over luminaries to light up the night on Christmas Eve around the Brookfield Common and Route 9. It is a festive occasion that you won't want to miss. You are invited to help set up, but in any case, come to the Brookfield Common at dusk and stay for the holiday bells that will chime at 5 pm.
The luminaries public display is funded by private donors in addition to the sale of candles. If you wish to make an additional donation please mail to: Luminaries, Friends of the Library, PO Box 528, Brookfield, MA 01506 or drop off at the library. Thank you!
